April 26, 2014

I live in West Virginia. I wear the blue and gold state colors, on the appropriate days. I cheer on the schools’ sports teams and applaud their academic achievements....

Thats just more liberal propaganda. GUbment doenst know best. THey think they do, but history shows that often the doom and gloom was excess. Doo good aint enough when youve emasculated a culture with TAKING their property so a bunch of leftists can pretend they are doing good. ENough is enough.

This is not the real picture..when you walk by the river you are walking by mercury and other highly toxic waste and maybe a body or two. when you think of the farms and forests go see RT 50 in Marshall Co or the many sites in the Rt 89 area.We recoil in horror from people who have done terrible things here for money while the land is toxic with known carcinogens. Degraded and contaminated..the triad of drugs, gambling and prostitution are joined by corruption and drilling destruction..not a pretty picture.Patriotism is not enough.

"two brothers in Mercer County were cited for conducting brutal, senseless cockfights"

Im afraid these are realities of the cultures that are supplanting ours, madame. Is it not arrogance to assume that cultures coming here wont bring the hobbies and games they are used to from their homeland? Welcome to what cultural supplanting looks like. Eventually they wont even care what people think for they will be the majority. And in their native lands Majority Is the final word. Cheers

WV is a state blessed with beautiful scenery, abundant natural resources and a generally favorable climate. Sounds like the recipe for a successful state. Unfortunately, it has not entirely worked out that way. Somewhere along the line mountain state residents became ingrown and resentful of the successes of surrounding states. Rather than protect WV's natural beauty and provide the best possible education and opportunities for its citizens, WV essentially sold its heritage for a few pieces of silver and ignored the long-term interests of its youth. Today it is largely gutted and surly, suspicious of anyone who advocates positive change. Too many take pride in the negatives of WV rather than working to better its future.
