Sad to me to read some of the comments on here. The "balloons" were being used as a symbol for the children that went to Harmony House and were able to talk about abuse that they have suffered. Child abuse is a serious matter and the staff at Harmony House truly enjoy the work that they do. They are very thankful to all who support them. The event was held to help financially support Harmony House to continue to help families who are dealing with abuse. Harmony House does not charge for their services and is funded by grants and donations. A big Thank You to the staff at Harmony House that has helped many families dealing with the ugliness of abuse. Education yourself and your children about Child Abuse.

Are the balloons carrying machineguns liked to computers with abuser databases? If not then they are combating nothing.

Abused children don't often 'know' they are being abused! To them, its just a 'normal' way of life, getting hit with this or that, because they have always suffered from it, all their lives.

Most are so afraid to speak out, because they think that they will be punished even more, that, they wouldn't tell, even if you coaxed them into it.

Others, fear that their siblings would get into more trouble if they would tell.

Still, others kill their parents, when they get the first chance, after being pushed beyond their tolerance for pain and suffering.

Back in the 50s and beyond that, it was acceptable to get beaten and no one would say a word about it, because it was the 'norm'... Now, its recognized that child abuse hurts more than its known, and will be readily passed on to future generations if not stopped.

I wish you well...

Meaningless gestures that make people feel good. Harmony House does great work, don't get me wrong. Maybe we should stop rewarding unfit parents with more and more welfare benefits. If they can't properly care for their children, remove the children.
