She was born, May 23, 1917 in Ohio County, the daughter of the late William and Minnie Bartels Hehr.
Mrs. Ewing was a retired bookkeeper for the Scottish Rite Bodies for 25 years; a graduate of Warwood High School; a member of St. Lukes Episcopal Church, where she served as secretary for a number of years.
She was also a member of Isis Court No. 1; a 50 year member of Miriam Chapter No. 1; O.E.S.; White Shrine of Jerusalem; Thursday Music Club; Island Senior Citizens; and A.A.R.P. No. 2481.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas James (Jim) Ewing.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas William “Bill” Ewing of Roanoke, Va., and James Charles “Jim” Ewing and his wife, Judy, of North Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren, W. David Ewing and his wife, Tracey, of North Carolina, Ann E. Ruel and her husband, James, of Chesapeake, Va., Susan L. Kelly and her husband, Christopher, of Roanoke, and Leslie M. Ewing of Jersey City, N.J.; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, E. Marjorie Kish of Warwood; a nephew, Gary Kish of Warwood; and a niece, Gail Kish of Warwood.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Lukes Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Kelly officiating.
Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
