Virginia M. Strautmann

STRAUTMANN, Virginia Marie Calmbacher, 83, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at home.

She was born March 30, 1924 in Benwood, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Anna Wagenhoffer Calmbacher.

Virginia was a homemaker; and a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Philathea Group.

She was also a member of the Wardah Hussam Temple No. 53, Daughters of the Nile; the Mariam Chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star; the Ms Court No. 1, Ladies Oriental Shrine, where she was past High Priestess; the Woman’s Club of Wheeling; and the El Tor Grotto.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Alvin Strautmann in 1997.

Surviving are two sons, Harry A. “Bud” Strautmann Jr. and his wife, Wanda, of Wheeling and Jeff A. Strautmann and his wife, Bonnie, of Cameron, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Jody, Kelly and Jacob Strautmann; a great-granddaughter, Northanna; and a great-grand son, Thomas.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007, at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Dr. Linda Glass officiating.

Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
