She was born February 28, 1919 in Terre Haute, Ind., a daughter of the late Joseph “Slim” and Anita Duarte Garcia.
Miss Garcia was a retired employee of the former Louis Marx Toy Company, Glen Dale, with 40 years of service; and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Skypack and Mary Virginia Garcia; and a brother, Joseph “Vandy” Garcia.
Surviving are two nephews, Michael J. Skypack of Moundsville, and Mark J. Skypack and his wife, Helen, of Triadelphia; and a cousin, Rita Duarte Smith of Schaumburg, Ill., all of whom she raised. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Bernadette Luster Garcia of Burke, Va.; three nephews, Joseph J. Garcia and his wife, Brenda, of Fairfax, Va., Steven M. Garcia of Arlington, Va., and Christopher J. Garcia and his wife, Linda, of Lovettsville, Va.; a niece, Jill D. Daniels and her husband, Tom, of Burke, Va.; two great-nephews; four great-nieces; and special friends, Mary Zatezalo and Mercedes Lucas, both of Moundsville.
There will be no visitation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2007 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Moundsville.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
