Chaz L. Lightner

LIGHTNER, Chaz L., 17, of RD No. 2, Moundsville, W.Va., died Sunday, February 10, 2008.

He was born August 27, 1990 in Wheeling, W.Va.

He was a student at John Marshall High School, where he played football and wrestled; was a Christian by faith; and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and hanging out with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patty Wood; and a cousin, P.J. Lightner.

Survivors include his father, George “Rusty” (Shawna) Lightner of Moundsville; his mother, Paula “Jody” Wood (Mike) Maples of Jonesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Savanah Lightner of Jonesboro and Ashley Korn of Moundsville; two brothers, George “Rusty” Lightner, Jr. and Camo Lightner, both of Moundsville; paternal grandparents, John (Susie) Lightner of Moundsville; maternal grandfather, Joseph Wood of Moundsville; maternal great-grandmother, Opal Wood of Moundsville; two uncles, John (Cathy) Lightner and T.J. Wood of Moundsville; aunts, Shari Wood of Columbus, Ohio, Brandy Wood of Moundsville, Toni (Brent) Cunningham of Moundsville, Patty (John) Bungard of Glen Easton, Debbie (Bill) Jones, Charity (Shawn) Carroll, and Misty (Joseph) Huggins, all of Moundsville; and Jolene Wood of Arizona; cousins, Luke and Cody Cunningham, John Bungard, Jr., Brandy Hudson, Kilie and Andy Bungard, Wayne, Chad and Carli Lightner, Jessy Harness, Braden Carroll, Hank, Hunter and Austin Lightner, Klypsan Wallace, Preston and Cole Vella, Rachel and Josie Midcap, Belle Wood and Taylor and Kyle Davis; and his very best friend, Josh Stevey.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Marcy Taylor-Calvert officiating.

Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
