NEW MARTINSVILLE — Curves of New Martinsville will participate in the 10th Annual Curves Food Drive today through March 15 to benefit local food banks.
Last year, the Curves Food Drive collected nearly 11 million pounds of food for communities all over the world. With more people in need of healthy food, the goal for 2008 is 15 million pounds.
This year’s drive includes a weekly theme that gives members the opportunity to donate healthy foods to the cause.
The schedule includes: Week one, Empty Your Pantry of Healthy Staples; Week two, Foods from Around the World; Week three, Souper Supper; Week four, Family Friendly items including snacks for kids and baby necessities.
Non-members wishing to donate to the cause can drop off food items at the New Martinsville Curves, located in the New Martinsville Plaza, Monday through Friday during business hours.
