Duke’s Slam Paces Weir
John Marshall keeps rolling, routs Weir

Patrick Duke hit a grand slam home run and finished with six RBI, leading Weir (2-0) to an 11-2 rout of Wheeling Central in high school baseball action Thursday evening in a game that was moved from Wheeling to Weirton.
Steve Buffo struck out 10 and combined with Joe Sadler on a one-hitter, that being a single by Andrew Henry. P.J. Ratcliff also added an RBI for the Maroon Knights.
Buffo added three singles and Matt Nagy doubled and drove in a run for the Red Riders.
John Marshall 12, Cameron 2
At Glen Dale, Zane Madden doubled twice and drove in two and Cole Cassis added two RBI, leading John Marshall (4-0) past Cameron.
Kirk Conroy earned the victory as he struck out eight and combined with Brandon Aston on a one-hitter, a double by Jacob Koontz.
Jacob Carnahan, Carson Koontz, and Jesse Persinger each had an RBI for the Monarchs.
