Job Fair Slated Thursday at Former Penitentiary

The third annual Marshall County Job Fair is scheduled to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the former West Virginia Penitentiary, 818 Jefferson Ave.

Open to the public, the event is being sponsored by the Marshall County Commission, TeleTech, Bayer Heritage Credit Union, PPG Industries Inc., and the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.

“Hopefully this event will attract many job seekers,” said Lisa Gongola of the WVDHHR. “This job fair will give the employer the opportunity to interview and discuss current or future job openings with competent and qualified job seekers, face-to-face.”

Forty-eight vendors are confirmed for the day. In addition to employers, there will also be representatives from local colleges and other agencies displaying information about their services.

The vendors include:

Adecco Employment Services, American Electric Power, American Professional Truck Driving School, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, BB&T, Belmont Technical College, Child Care Resource Center, city of Wheeling, Crittenton Services/Wellspring Family Services, Epixtar, Global Contact Services, Home and Garden, H&R Block, Huffner Contracting;

? Interim Health Care, Jackson Hewitt Tax, Liberty Environmental Services, Local 83 Plumbers and Pipefitters, Mary Kay, National Council on Aging Senior Employment, Northern Correctional Facility, Northwood Health Systems, Northern Panhandle Headstart, Oglebay Park and Conference Center, Ohio Truck Driver Training School, Orbit Educational Group Inc., Peterson Rehabilitation and Geriatric Center, Ponderosa Steakhouse;
