By WARREN SCOTT
POSTED: July 22, 2008

WELLSBURG - A Beech Bottom man died after falling through the roof of a local industrial plant.

City police said they were called at 8:15 a.m. Monday to the 12th Street location of Eagle Manufacturing after Eugene Diserio, 57, of Beech Bottom, an employee of Eagle, fell through the roof of the building and onto a concrete floor more than 20 feet below.

Police said Diserio was transported by the Brooke County Ambulance Service to Weirton Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Other information about the incident wasn't available from city police, who were assisted by the Brooke County Sheriff's Department and Wellsburg Fire Department in responding to the emergency.

Calls to Eagle Manufacturing for more information weren't immediately returned.

The man's death will be investigated by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
