Darrel Ballard

BALLARD, Darrel Anglo, 62, of Paden City, W.Va. died Friday, April 3, 2009 as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Darrel was born October 2, 1946 in Wileyville, W.Va., the son of Anglo and Virginia Taylor Ballard.

He was a retired school teacher for the Wetzel County School System, a County Technology Coordinator, President of Solid Waste Authority, a graduate of Glenville State College and West Virginia University, member of the One Room School Reunion, a loving husband, father and friend to many. He had a wide variety of hobbies, including computers and motorcycles.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife of 29 years, Christine Andrews Ballard; two sons, Mark and Andrew Ballard; and a daughter, Mya Cher Ballard of St. Albans.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Jarvis Funeral Home, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2009 with Deacon Rod Fagert officiating.

Interment will be at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City, W.Va.

A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Darrel's name to Children's Home of Wheeling, 1 Orchard Dr., Wheeling, WV 26003.
