Bethlehem Councilman Stanley Wojcik was cited for driving under the influence following a traffic stop in Benwood late Saturday.

Benwood Police Department reports indicate Wojcik - whose address is listed as 205 Ridgecrest Road, Wheeling - was stopped near a bridge on Roosevelt Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

He was driving his 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the time.

After being cited, Wojcik was released to his wife, Beverly, pending a hearing before a Marshall County magistrate.

Bethlehem Mayor Garrett "Rhett" Daniel said the matter will now be "decided by the courts."

"We will just have to see how things play out in court," Daniel said.

Wojcik did not return calls seeking comment Monday.
