Crash Kills Two In Marshall County

By ART LIMANN Staff Writer
POSTED: September 20, 2009

CAMERON -Two Littleton area residents were killed and two others seriously injured in a single vehicle crash that occurred at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 250 south of W.Va. 89 in Marshall County.

According to Marshall County Chief Deputy Kevin Cecil, the vehicle was traveling south and "went off the road, at a curve and struck a tree." He said, "alcohol was believed to be involved."

Richard Derby, 31, the driver of the car, and his wife, Krystal Derby, 45, the front seat passenger, were both "killed on impact," according to reports.

Backseat passengers, daughter, Michelle Villers, 29, and Edgar Yoho, 42, were both injured and transported by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Cecil said a small dog was also in the vehicle and was taken to family members.

Cecil explained the crash is still under investigation to see if there were any other extenuating circumstances. He said a reconstructionist was called to the scene in addition to two deputies.

Others responding to the crash were Cameron and Hundred Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical personnel, county coroner, and medical helicopters from Morgantown.

I am Crystal's sister and yes thank you Markus the family would appreciate it if people like JamesT would not make comments about something he knows nothing about and NO there is no telephone service there. Thank you Markus and Sharala for your comments....For those who want to sit behind a computer screen and make negative comments do something constructive with your time and offer up a little prayer for my niece Michelle and her boyfriend Edgar? Or maybe that is something you know nothing about either?

so Sharala, if alcohol was the contributing factor that should be overlooked and no one should take responsibility for this preventable accident?Sad they died but that is a result of poor choices, be it alcohol or plain old terrible driving.
