STRESKI, Edward J., 88, of Glen Dale, W.Va., joined his darling Deloris I. Streski on Monday, October 26, 2009.
He was born May 26, 1921, in Poland, to the late Maximilian and Aurelia Strzeszewski.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Glen Dale, and a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge.
He was the past commander and member of the VFW and the owner of the Overhead Door Company of Wheeling.
He was the owner of the B & O building in Wheeling, the Blue Caboose Teenage Dance Hall, and Delorez Salon and Beauty Shop.
He served in the U.S. Army in WWII for 39 months in the Pacific from Milne Bay to Japan with the 836 Aviation Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Deloris Streski and his sister Zenobia Angel.
Surviving is his daughter, Victoria Bostic and her husband Rick of Barnesville, Ohio; one sister, Mary Suchan of Glen Dale; one grandson, John Dudzik and his wife Danalle; one great granddaughter, Payton Dudzik and his nephew, Richard Angel.
Friends will be received Thursday, October 29, 2009, from 2-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood- McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall St., McMechen with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale, with Rev. John R. Gallagher as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Valley Brook Memorial Gardens.
