7:05 p.m. Marshall County Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

MOUNDSVILLE - The family of a Benwood soldier has confirmed he died while serving in Afghanistan.

Julian Berisford, 25, was injured after his Army platoon came under fire Wednesday. He later died from his injuries.

Berisford was a 2002 graduate of John Marshall High School and leaves behind a wife, Gina, and 11-month-old daughter.

May God Bless your family thru this trying time. He definitely paid the highest sacrifce, for his Country! I am sure he will get a Hero's welcome when he reaches his highest rank up in HEAVEN!

julian we went to high school together we even worked together for a little while at the crappy restaurant of ponderosa and now you have moved on to heaven R I P my friend and Godbless the family you left behind you were my friend and my neighbor goodbye my friend

I'll miss you cuz. Thank's for serving your Country and making the ultimate sacrifice. You paid the Ultimate Sacrifice so people in this Country can have the Freedom's that we have. Again THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH. Rest In Peace HOOAH

I hope that you find comfort in the fact that Julian was a hero.

I can never understand how a just and merciful God takes our nation's best so soon. I DO thank God daily that we have the finest military men on the planet.
