DEATON, Floyd David, Sr., 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Wheeling, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born December 25, 1931, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Phillip and Mable Deaton.
Beloved husband to Myrtle Gertrude (Calissie) Deaton of South Wheeling; father of Floyd David (Kim) Deaton, Jr. and Martha Marie (Paul) Niehaus of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandfather of Tiffany Ann (Albert) Wallace of Austin, Texas and Jessica Lynn Niehaus of St. Petersburg, Fla.
Survived by six of 11 brother and sisters.
Floyd served in the Korean War and was a deputy sheriff for 22 years with the Ohio County Sheriff's Department. Member in standing with the Knights of Columbus, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Retired and lived with his wife of 54 years, the last residing in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 29, 2009 12-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 36th and Jacob St., South Wheeling, where services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11 a.m.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling,W.Va.
