SPROWL, Alfred "Dan" Daniel Jr., 74, of New Martinsville, W.Va. died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital.
Dan was born April 27, 1936 in Cadiz, Ohio, son of the late Alfred D. and Lydia Kaufman Sprowl.
He was a retired pipe fitter from PPG with 38 years of service, U.S. Army veteran of Korean conflict, member of Wetzel Masonic Lodge No. 39 A.F.&A.M. where he served as Past Master twice, and was a Shriner; New Martinsville Moose Lodge 931 and a member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, "Bunny" Nila J. Durig Sprowl; and brother, John Sprowl.
Surviving are two sons, Dan Sprowl and "J.D." (Elisa) Sprowl, both of New Martinsville; granddaughter, Isabel Sprowl; brother, Carl (Shirley) Sprowl; sister-in-law, Dixie Elwood; nephew, Benjamin Elwood; and niece, Emily Elwood.
Friends received 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S. Bridge St., New Martinsville.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Melissa Shortridge officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Wetzel Masonic Lodge 39 A.F. & A.M,. and military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Honor Guards.
Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
