Amelia Elsa Reyes and Steven Ryan Patterson were united in marriage Saturday, July 3, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Wheeling, with the Rev. James Sobus officiating the traditional Filipino wedding. He was assisted by Msgr. Kevin Quirk and the Rev. Michael Lecias.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Romeo C. Reyes of Wheeling.
The groom is the son of Michael Patterson of Wolcottville, Ind., and the late Marilyn Ryan Patterson.
Heidi Schauer was maid of honor. Catherine Pappas was matron of honor. Shawn Patterson, brother of the groom, served as best man.

The bride is a graduate of Linsly School and a graduate of Princeton University. She works at Reno and Cavanaugh in Washington, D.C.
The groom is a graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School and a graduate of Indiana University. He is vice president in federal government relations with JP Morgan Chase in Washington, D.C.
After a wedding trip to New Zealand and Cook Islands, the couple resides in Alexandria, Va.
