Harold and Nancy Patterson of Wellsburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Aug. 5.

They were united in marriage Aug. 5, 1961 at Wellsburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Conrad Steinbrenner officiating.

Nancy Patterson is the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Ditty. She is a graduate of Wellsburg High School and a graduate of Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Steubenville. Presently retired, she worked for Dr. Patsy P. Cipoletti, Dr. Robert Marks and Tri County Visiting Nurses. She is active as president of the Wellsburg Alumni Association, vice president of Brooke Area AARP and a tour director.

Patterson is the son of the late Lloyd and Pearl Patterson. He is a graduate of Avella High School and served three years in the Army with a deployment to Korea. He retired from Signode Corp. in Weirton after 39 years of service. After retirement, he enjoys hunting and winters at Fort Myers, Fla.

They are the parents of two children. The family includes Debbie Crum and her husband, Bill, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Robert Patterson and his friend, Bobbie Jo Kennedy, of Carmichaels, Pa. They have five grandchildren.

They celebrated by renewing their wedding vows at Franklin United Methodist Church, Wellsburg, and having a dinner at the Moose lodge in Wellsburg Saturday, Aug. 6.
