Condition of roads not entirely the fault of drillers

October 1, 2011
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

The state of West Virginia would have you believe that our bad roads are due to the influx of Marcellus gas companies.

In truth, they tear up their fair share as the roads were not built for weight they our now asked to bear.

But they are not responsible for miles upon miles of unditched Marshall County roads.

The Department of Transportation will tell you that they grade and ditch every 3 years. After a trip around Marshall County, I can tell you it's not working.

Let us not run out the best thing that has happened to Marshall County in years.
