How many upgrades are necessary?

October 22, 2011
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

Steep water rates increases, 70-80 percent for plant upgrades?

"You'll have a very good quality water" is the answer.

This has been the same song Wheeling has been singing for many years every time it comes to increases.

At one time they told us we had good quality water in the Wil Turani years, then a year or so ago they told us how bad the water we were drinking was.

The average bill increases from $19.44 to $33.05 at a 70 percent rate and $34.99 at 80 percent.

The water rates increasing falls right in line with sewer increases.

How many upgrades are necessary to finally decide to build an entire new plant somewhere down the line. All good citizens of Wheeling will be effected.

When is enough really enough?
