Chesapeake does it again on our roads

November 5, 2011
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

The repair on Stone Church Road has caused some concerns with the community.

Chesapeake Energy has hired a paving company, Lane Construction out of Pennsylvania, to repair West Virginia roads. Doesn't West Virginia have paving companies?

Chesapeake has been asked time and time again to hire workers within our state. All the money they are paying to out of state workers could be kept in our state helping our community.

They not only didn't hire West Virginia workers, they also hired a paving company that is doing a lousy job. The road wasn't rough before they patched it. They are using too small a roller to smooth out the patches. It ends up leaving ridges, which are rough to ride over.

Chesapeake needs, instead of just taking from West Virginia, to give back to West Virginia, to give back by hiring West Virginia workers.
