NEW MANCHESTER - Sophomore Tanner Filben scored 15 points and Justin Wade had 12 as John Marshall opened its season with a 63-45 road triumph at Oak Glen on Friday night in boys' basketball action.
Evan Magers added 10 points for the Monarchs (1-0), while Aaron Fonner added eight points and six assists.
Matt McLaughlin paced the Golden Bears (0-2) with nine points on three 3-pointers.
