SISTERSVILLE - Fire destroyed the home of Scott Ash, at 112 South Wells St., in Sistersville Sunday morning.
According to Sistersville Fire Chief Steve Leasure, the call came into his department about 9 a.m. The home was totally involved when the first responding units arrived at the scene. It took firefighters more than one hour to bring the fire under control and they remained at the scene for almost four hours.
No one was home when the fire broke out. The cause has not been determined and it is still under investigation. It is not believed to be suspicious. No one was hurt, however, the family dog died in the blaze.

Leasure said the intense fire caused the roof of the two-story structure to collapse and also damaged the vinyl siding of the next door home. Paden City Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the blaze.
