Adam C. McCloud, 33, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, is charged with murder and attempted arson in the January death of Sara Williams in Chester.
McCloud was taken to the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville, according to Chester Police Chief Ken Thorn.
"Warrants were obtained Sunday evening and put into the system Sunday," Thorn said.
McCloud is facing charges related to the events of Jan. 26 on Phaeton Avenue in Chester that allegedly resulted in the death of Sara Williams, 37. Chester police were called by Williams' co-workers, who were concerned because she had not shown up for work that morning.
Upon arriving at the home, police noticed the odor of gas and called the Chester Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department located the source of the gas and turned it off. Inside, police found Williams dead and McCloud unresponsive.
According to Thorn, upon McCloud's release from East Liverpool City Hospital, the warrants were served and McCloud was arrested by the East Liverpool Police Department. Earlier reports stated McCloud appeared in East Liverpool Municipal Court on Monday on a fugitive from justice charge after being released from the hospital.
On Monday, McCloud waived his right to an extradition hearing and was transported by ambulance to the Hancock County Magistrate Office in New Cumberland, where he was arraigned.
Police allege McCloud attempted to set fire to or burn the Chester building and murdered Williams. Thorn said McCloud is being held without bond.
