James Darling

DARLING, James Thomas "Jim Tom," 55, of Pine Grove, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at his home.

He attended the First Baptist Church in Pine Grove, W.Va.

He was employed by Consol McElroy Coal Mine for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army as a specialist and was a member of the U.S. Army Rifle Team.

Jim Tom was an avid hunter who loved to travel out west to hunt.

He was born on April 28, 1956 in Folsom, W.Va., the son of the late F. Fred and Frances Evelyn Keating Darling.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Simon Darling (Aug. 27, 2007); and a niece, Brooke Johnston.

Surviving are two stepsons, Sean (Lisa) Yoho of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Andy (Sarah) Yoho of Clarksburg, W.Va.; five sisters, Evelyn (Jack) Talkington of Fountain, Colo., Maxine Darling of Sun City, Fla., Edith (Kenneth) Swiger of Hurricane, W.Va., Billie Jo Shuman of Burlington, Ky., and Jeanie (Craig) Johnston of West Milford, W.Va.; five grandchildren, McKinlee, Faith, Isabella, Sebastian and Jericho Yoho; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, W.Va., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with Leary VanHorn officiating. Interment at Hilltop Cemetery near Pine Grove, W.Va.
