ASH, Melba Lea, 86, of New Martinsville Care and Rehabilitation Center, New Martinsville formerly of Jacksonburg, departed this life Saturday, May 5, 2012 in the facility.
She was born March 2, 1926 in Wilbur the daughter of the late Flavie and Edna McIntyre Pratt.
Melba was a retired cook for Tyler County Board of Education with 35 years of service. She was a Methodist.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John W. Ash; two infant sons, Ricky Lee Arnett and Allen Brent Arnett; and a daughter Beverly Heflin.
Melba is survived by a daughter, Berdina (Norman) Rose, New Martinsville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Furbee Funeral Home, Route 18, Tyler where services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. with Reverend Donald Thomas officiating.
Interment in Wilbur Cemetery, Wilbur.
