MINTER, Sylbia Vaun Sapp, 83, of West Liberty, WV, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at her residence.
She was born June 10, 1928 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of the late Harry and Hazel Starkey Sapp. Ms. Minter was a former LPN at Ohio Valley Medical Center and a member of the West Liberty Federated Church, West Liberty.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Russell Minter and brother, Vernon Sapp.
Surviving are two sons, Steven (Sandra) Minter of West Liberty and Walter (Louise) Minter of Hollidaysburg, PA; daughter, Connie Matheny-Poggi (Jim) of Triadelphia, WV; four sisters, Barbara Griffith of West Liberty, Jean Hedrick of Fairview, WV, Patty (George) Menas of Farmington, WV, and Eileen Pacifico of Smithfield, PA; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, and May 10 from noon until the service at 1 p.m. at the West Liberty Federated Church, West Liberty, with Pastor Bonnie Gilbert officiating. Entombment will follow at park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
