Nelsen Voted Mayor Of New Martinsville

New Martinsville voters Tuesday chose Keith Nelsen to be their mayor.

Nelsen received 811 votes, defeating opponent Steven A. Bohrer, who garnered 732.

Residents also elected council members in the 1st, 5th and 6th wards.

In the 1st Ward, Linda K. Barth was elected. She received 76 votes, while opponent Matt Bland had 41.

Doris A. Fannin was the victor in the 5th Ward. Fannin received 149 votes to defeat Joel Potts, who received 131.

In the 6th Ward, voters chose Iris "Deaner" Isaacs to be their councilwoman. Unofficial final totals listed her with 183 votes; Anthony (Cass) Castranova with 112; and Dennis Lively with 80.
