WELLSBURG - Wheeling Park wound up scoring three more runs in the top of the seventh in a continuation of Wednesday's game, then held off John Marshall to take the upperhand in the sectional tournament.
The Monarchs then turned around and eliminated Brooke as Shane Wellman scattered six hits and Todd Schmidt singled, doubled, and drove in three runs. Evan Magers and Chris Minder each added two singles, and Jake Lucas singled twice and doubled.
Steven Jeffries singled twice and Nick Breen drove in a run for the Bruins (14-17).
