HIGGINBOTHAM, Verchie "Mae," 79, of Glen Dale, WV, formerly of Cameron and Moundsville, WV, died Friday, May 11, 2012 in Shadyside Care Center, Shadyside, OH.
She was born August 10, 1932 in Cameron, the daughter of the late Leslie and Maggie Blake.
She was retired from Marshall County Schools with 27 years of service, having worked as a Cook at Pleasant Valley and a Custodian at Limestone Elementary; and was a member of Ash Avenue Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Cy Blake.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, George "Bryan" Higginbotham; two sons, Dave (Judy) Higginbotham of Waynesburg, PA, and Steve (Karen) Higginbotham of Moundsville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alverda Williamson of Moundsville.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 12-2 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 11am with Rev. Jeff Hancock officiating.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard.
