Andrew Bednarczyk

BEDNARCZYK, Andrew, 84 of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Belmont Community Hospital in Bellaire, Ohio.

He was born December 24, 1927 in Powhatan Point, Ohio a son of the late Joseph and Mary Sivik Bednarczyk.

He was retired from AEP and worked at the former Ohio Ferro Alloys for twenty-eight years. Andy was the owner and operator of Andy's Heating and Air Conditioning.

He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, VFW Post 5565 and the American Legion Post 228. Andy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was also a coach of the Little League and Pony League for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Bednarczyk and several half brothers and sisters.

Andy will be sadly missed by his wife of fifty-nine years, Nora Fankhauser Bednarczyk; his daughter, Pamela (David) Corwin of Powhatan Point, Ohio and his son, David (Christine) Bednarczyk of Charleston, South Carolina and one brother, Frank Bednarczyk of Wintersville, Ohio. Also grandsons, Todd (Cathy) Schuler, Matthew (Janette) Corwin and A.J. Bednarczyk and his granddaughter, Maggie Bednarczyk and great-grandchildren, Emily and Drew Schuler and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff of the Country Club Retirement Campus who took such good care of Andy during his stay there.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 186 Main Street Powhatan Point, Ohio on Wednesday, May 16 from 1 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 11 am at the St. John's United Church of Christ, German Ridge, Powhatan Point, Ohio with Pastor Carla Wobschall and Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment in the Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio with Full Military Honors conducted by the Powhatan Veterans' Honor Guard.

VFW Post 5565 and American Legion Post 228 will conduct services on Wednesday evening at 7 pm in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's United Church of Christ, 51705 German Ridge Road, Powhatan Point, Ohio 43942.
