The Marshall County Animal Shelter will host a Wine Tasting Party from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at River City Ale Works in Wheeling to benefit the new, low-income Tiffany Dlesk Spay-Neuter Clinic next to the shelter.
"This is our second year to do this. Last year we made about $2,000 - this year we hope to make a lot more. We want to make this an annual thing," said Jane Husek, organizer of the event. "All the wine comes from Mutt Lynch Wines in California and is specially bottled. All the wines are named after dogs.
"There will be a wide variety of wines available, and it's all very good wine," she added. "We would like to encourage people to get their tickets in advance."
Tickets are available at the Marshall County Animal Shelter, Happy Tails, Casa Di Vino, Centre Market, River City Ale Works, Shadyside Party Center, Nini's Treasures, Van Dynes Restaurant and Stay & Play Dog Camp.
There will also be an auction, 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Sponsors are Casa Divino, River City Ale Works, CVS Pharmacy and Smoker Friendly.
