SEALS, Richard (Rich) James, 60, went to his Heavenly Home on Friday, May 18, 2012. He fought a long and courageous battle against his cancer for 2 1/2 years.
Rich is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Carla Kreitzer Seals and his two sons, Travis (Lorraine) Seals and Andy (Carly) Seals of Wheeling; his grandchildren, Emily Cherry, Tayler, Bailey, Zach, A.J. and Brennan all of Wheeling; his sister, JoAnne Bosworth (Brad Wheeler); brothers, Vernon Seals (Sherrie Briggs), Wayne (Linda) Seals all of Wheeling and Larry Gault (Louise) of Salisbury, NC; brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Dianna) Kreitzer of Wheeling and Doug (Susan) Kreitzer of Delaware, OH; sister-in-law, Patsy Seals; and many many, nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Doris (Davis) Seals; brothers, Frank A., William, Herbert and Kenneth and his sisters, Anna Jeanette and Beverly.
Rich was a member of the Triadelphia United Methodist Church and was retired from the Wheeling Police Department with 21 years of service. He was also a member of the Ohio Valley Street Survivors and the Elm Grove Eagles, a lifetime member and past president of Wheeling Park High School Boosters, a member of the Wheeling Island Community Association, past president of Wheeling Park High School Football Parents, past president of the Wheeling Island Athletic Association, past vice president of the Mountaineer Baseball League. He coached Little League Baseball and coached freshman football for Wheeling Park High School. Rich was an avid WVU fan and avid fan and stock holder of the Green Bay Packers. Rich devoted his life to his wife and two sons and his grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling (304-232-2732) where services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Douglas E. Liston officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
