BOOTH, Arthur L. "Lee," Jr., age 85, of Porter Falls, WV passed from this earth, May 19, 2012.
He was born February 24, 1927 in Wheeling, WV the son of the late Arthur L. Booth, Sr. and Golda A. Smith Booth.
Lee retired from Consolidated Gas (Dominion) at Hastings, WV after 38 years of service where he started as a telegraph operator.
He enjoyed farming, rabbit hunting, reading, fishing, and raising cattle. He made wooden toys for years, giving them away to many in the area. He also enjoyed hit and miss engines and loved visiting with friends at the local engine shows.
Lee had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Wetzel Lodge #39 A.F & A.M and Trinity United Methodist Church in Reader, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jay S. Booth.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Margaret J. Winslow Booth; two sons, Arthur L. (Barbara) Booth III of Newport News, VA and Mark W. (Carla) Booth of Barboursville, WV; three grandchildren, Amanda Booth of Newport News, Zachary and Chad Booth of Barboursville; a sister, Kathleen Booth Anderson of Kettering, OH; two brothers, Karroll (Lois) Booth of Coraopolis, PA and George "GE" (Margie) Booth of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Carol Starkey and Gary Cain for their care and assistance over these last few months.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ron Acord and Pastor Delbert Lasure officiating.
Interment in Northview Cemetery where Masonic and Military Graveside Services will be held.
Lee will be sadly missed by family and friends.
