WRIGHT-RICKUS, Rosa Nell Shaw, 87, of Jefferson, PA, formerly of Wheeling, WV, died at 10:20 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Evergreen Personal Care in Waynesburg, PA.
She was born Wednesday, November 26, 1924 in Rogersville, a daughter of the late George L. Shaw and Mary Elizabeth Yost Shaw.
Mrs. Rickus was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Wheeling, WV, and a former member of the Spraggs United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, class of 1942. She was a member of the AARP and the womens group CEOS. Mt. Olivet, formerly Homemakers. Mrs. Rickus worked for 2 years in Housekeeping at the Greene Co. Memorial Hospital. She then worked for 5 years as a cashier and hostess in the dining room for the Quality Inn in Wheeling, WV. She later worked for 10 years as a sales clerk for Cherokee Trading Post in Wheeling. Mrs. Rickus was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Her First Husband: Junior Earl Wright, died Sept, 10, 1970; her 2nd Husband: Edward L. Rickus died April 26, 2006.
Surviving are 2 Daughters and their Husbands: Barbara L. (Gerald "Jerry") Bailey, of Jefferson, PA and Shelley (John) Haines, of Ruff Creek, PA; 1 Step-Son and his Wife: Edward (Lisa) Rickus, of Penn Hills, PA; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson and 1 great-great-granddaughter; 1 Brother: Donald Duane Shaw, of Phoenix, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 1 Step-Son: Albert "Fuzzy" Rickus; 4 Sisters: Frances King, Mable Evans, Georgia Mae Matthews and Freda Shaw; 3 Brothers: Wilson Shaw, John Shaw and Glen Shaw.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA, 15370 where services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 25, 2012 with Rev. John Poling and Pastor Virginia Eberhart officiating. Burial will be in Pine Bank Cemetery, Pine Bank, PA.
