CHARLESTON -- Weirton Madonna's baseball team will have to wait at least another day to begin what it hopes will be a run toward a second West Virgina Class A championship. Because of rainy conditions at Appalachian Power Park, all games Friday were postponed.
The WVSSAC confirmed Friday afternoon that the schedule has been pushed back a day, meaning Madonna and Charleston Catholic will play in the semifinals at approximately 7:45 on Saturday night. All championships, beginning at 1 p.m. with the Class AAA game, to be followed by AA and A, will be contested Sunday.
