SCOTT, Raymond A. "Scotty," 68, of Triadelphia, WV, formerly of Dallas, WV, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Wheeling Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1943 in Harlan, KY.
He was a retired coalminer from the Shoemaker Mine; member of the Wolfenbarger Chapel Baptist Church in Tazewell, TN; a proud farmer; avid fisherman, hunter, and all-around sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Oraleen Dodd Scott; his step-mother, Dora Scott; two brothers, Robert Scott and Russell Scott.
Survivors include his loving wife, of 48 years, Garnet Bledsoe Scott; three children, Raymond (Larriette) Scott, Jr. of Proctor, Tammy (Joseph) Sberna of Sherrard, Tina (Tim) Carrigan of Marianna, PA; eight grandchildren, Zachary Sberna, Timothy Sberna, Jordan Scott, Austin Corvino, Sarah Sberna, Hattie Scott, Aden Carrigan, Alton Carrigan; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV and Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home, 937 Broad St., New Tazewell, TN.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Wolfenbarger Chapel Baptist Church, 3704 Powell River Road, Tazewell, TN with Rev. LJ Ellis and Rev. Gary Fletcher officiating.
Family will receive friends at the church from noon until the time of service.
Interment in Wolfenbarger Cemetery.
