THOMPSON, Donald Edward, 84, of Elm Grove passed away on June 13, 2012, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Donald was born in Wheeling, WV, on March 27, 1928, the son of the late Joseph E. and Leilia F. Patterson Thompson.
He was a 40 year employee of the Kepner Funeral Home, a special Minister of the Eucharist at the Cathedral and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Donald was the past president of the Little Theatre of Wheeling and a member of the former Wheeling Roller Skate Club and performed with the Elks Minstrel Club, he was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Mary Thompson, daughter, Mrs. Donna Houck of Chicago, IL, one granddaughter, Mrs. Denee' Stauver Chmiel, of Houston, Texas, and a brother, Robert Thompson of Fort Mills, S.C.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 15, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home (304. 242.2311), 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. William K. Matheny as celebrant.
Entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
