STEWART, Elaine Hess, 98, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Belmont Manor Care Center.
She was born at Bridgeport, Ohio on November 12, 1913 a daughter of the late John W. Bowman and Kathryn Irene Berkman Bowman.
Elaine retired as a receptionist for the Wheeling Credit Bureau. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in St. Clairsville and Bridgeport Chapter #452 Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gaylor A. Hess and Charles William Stewart; a son, Clifford Gaylor Hess; a brother, John William Bowman, Jr.; a sister, Ruth Dawson; and a step-daughter, Jean (Stuart) Henderson.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Jerry) Comas of St. Clairsville and Kathy Bonnell of Blacklick, Ohio; step- daughter, Vivian (Ray) Zeyer of St. Clairsville; step-son, Edward (Judy) Stewart of Fountain Hills, AZ; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Eastern Star services at 7 p.m.
Also on Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in St. Clairsville from 10 a.m. to time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Donna Kraus officiating.
Burial will follow in Belmont County Memorial Park.
