ZIMMERMAN, David A., 64, of the Columbus area, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, June 18, 2012.
A graduate of Shadyside High School, Shadyside, OH (1966) and Ohio University (1970), David retired from the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission in 2001 after a 30-year career as a rehabilitation counselor. He was an avid traveler who loved to explore off the beaten trail throughout the United States. He was also a true audiophile who appreciated a wide range of music.
David was preceded in death by his father, Harry, and mother, Bernice.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Richard) Harris; brother, H. Robert; niece, Erica (Andrew) Kennett; step-nephews, Jonathon (Nicole) Harris, and Matthew (Khristina) Harris; two great-nephews; one great-niece; and several cousins.
A family interment service will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, OH and a Celebration of Life gathering, open to all, will be held at Beaver Creek Metro Park in Amherst, OH on Saturday, September 22, from 1-4 p.m.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Support of the Educational Mission, 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd., Cleveland OH 44114.
