DUKE, Joan E. Baumberger, 82, resident of Wheeling, WV died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born September 23, 1929 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Andrew Baumberger and Bertha Teater Baumberger Schoeppner.
Joan retired after 20 years as a custodian at Lawrencefield Chapel, and was a Methodist by faith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Lee Baumberger.
She is survived by her husband William Charles Duke; her children Kathy Duke-Crivelli of Pittsburgh, PA., James W. Duke and his wife Melanie of Sherrard, WV., and William C. Duke, II of Columbus, OH.; brother Richard Baumberger of Springfield, FL.; grandchildren Justin and Kevin Crivelli of Pittsburgh, PA., Karissa and Alison Duke of Wheeling, WV., and Matthew Duke of Columbus, OH.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-242-2311) where services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gary Beale officiating.
Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park.
