KNAUSS, Mary Ellen Eberts, 89, resident of Wheeling, WV, died Friday, July 13, 2012 at Forest Hill Retirement Community, St. Clairsville, OH.
She was born September 5, 1922 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late George J. and Virginia Morris Eberts.
She was a graduate of Mt. de Chantal Visitation Academy and a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, King's Daughter's, Eleanor Brandfass Circle, and the Garden Club of Wheeling. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter William Knauss, Jr.
Surviving is a daughter, Georgene (Stephen) Wayne of Simpsonville, SC.; sons, Walter William Knauss, III (Catherine) of Thousand Oaks, CA. and Robert J. Knauss (Barbara) of Jacksonville, FL.; two honorary sons, Jay T. McCamic (Jimmie Ann) and George E. McCamic (Susie); one honorary daughter Abigail Feinknopf (Brad); grandchildren, Scott Wayne (Cathy), Heather Wayne and Kenny Snider, Bryan Knauss, Erin Moore (Jason), Betsy Knauss, Casey Knauss (Amy), and Hannah Knauss; honorary grandchildren Jeremy McCamic (Liz), Nathan McCamic (Mary Margaret), Jackson Feinknopf , Miles Feinknopf, and Jamie McCamic; great-grandchildren Brandon Wayne, Jordyn Moore, and Maxwell Knauss.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Alvin Schafer officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
