ULMAN, Ralph, Jr., 88, of Gulfport, FL, and Wheeling, WV, died on Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Suncoast Hospice, Clearwater, FL.
He was born June 19, 1924 in Martins Ferry, OH, the son of the late Ralph Ulman, Sr and Helen Palmer Ulman and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Wheeling, WV.
Ralph was a US Army Veteran during World War II where he was in the Army Medical Corps. He was a former Human Communications Professor at Belmont Technical College and a retired Chief Metalurgists and Assistant Plant Manager for Blaw Knox Foundry in Wheeling, WV. He was a member of the Jaycees, a charter member of Oglebay Park Waltz Night, a member of the American Legion in Florida, a member of the Wheeling, WV investment club, and a member of the Friday night poker club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine "Casey" Baker Ulman; a sister, Kathryn Lee Ulman; a nephew, Keith A. Ulman; a sister-in- law, Dorothy Baker and a brother-in-law, Edward Baker.
Surviving are a brother, Palmer Ulman and his wife, Mildred of Wheeling; four nieces, Melinda Kane and her husband, Jack of Claysville, PA, Alisa Turnewitsch and her husband, Chris of St. Clairsville, OH, Shelby Cross and her husband, Shawn of Allison Park, PA and Kimberly Spengler and her husband, Wolfgang of Switzerland; a nephew, Sutton Ulman and his wife, Monique of Shepherdstown, WV; two nieces-in-law, Shari Ulman of Wilmington, NC and Maya Ulman of Martinsville, WV; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Baker of New Martinsville WV; five great-nieces and four great- nephews.
Friends received on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd, Wheeling, WV with the Reverend Margie Carr officiating. Entombment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Wheeling, WV.
