Dallas Brooks

BROOKS, Dallas Alden, 81, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away July 22, 2012, at Liza's Place, surrounded by family.

He was born March 26, 1931, in Tioga, WV, son of Lewis and Elizabeth Brooks.

Dallas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Watching and helping them grow and change the future.

Dallas proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War as a Medic. He was a former employee of Saginaw Mining Company of St. Clairsville, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Yvonne Marie Kyer Brooks, a daughter , Sharon Kay Underwood and a grandson, Joseph (Joey) Fulton, siblings: Branford, Paris and Aiden Brooks, Bertha Tyler, Glady Hanna, Violet Amos and Hester Sullivan.

Dallas is survived by his children: son, Michael Brooks of St. Clairsville, daughters, Deborah Patterson of Belmont, Sheila Britton of Holloway, Paula Frollini of St. Clairsville, and Janet (Ron) Billeter of St. Clairsville. He had eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Freeman (Ruth) Brooks and Lewis (Diane) Brooks, one sister, Jane (Doris) Bragg, all of WV.

Family and friends will be received to pay tribute to Dallas and to celebrate his life at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Clairsville , Wednesday, July 25, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, where services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Wenger officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct services at 10:45 AM, Thursday at the funeral home.
