DeCREASE, Emma (Donley), 90, of Mounds-ville and McMechen, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
Emma was born August 29, 1921, in Barton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Elwood and Emma (Schwender) Donley. She was a Catholic by faith and attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Mounds-ville.
In addition to her parents, Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Domonick W. DeCrease, in 2008; three brothers, Paul, Edward and Richard Donley; two sisters, Shirley Sindeldecker and Catherine Sindeldecker; and a granddaughter, Rebecca DeCrease.
She is survived by her children, Robert DeCrease and his wife, Kathie of Crosslanes, W.Va. and Elizabeth Rosier and her friend, Corne Louis Slaughter of Moundsville; a brother, Robert Donley of St. Clairsville, Ohio; two sisters, Rose Jafrate and her husband, Peter of Benwood, W.Va. and Delores Fogle of Wheeling; two grandchildren, Christopher DeCrease and his wife, Lisa of St. Albans, W.Va. and Holly Rosier of McMechen; and two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Alyssa DeCrease.
Friends will be received from 12-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at St. James Catholic Church, with the Rev. Ranjan Ekka as celebrant. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
