KOONTZ, George, 74, of Clinton Ave., Moundsville, died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1937 in Limestone, WV, the son of the late Dale and Hazel Howell Koontz.
He was a pipefitter/ plumber for Pipefitter Local 83; a member of Middle Grave Creek Church of God; enjoyed working, golfing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Young Koontz; three daughters, Rhonda Thompson of Pataskala, OH, Kim (Rick) Whitfield of Bowman Ridge; Kelli (Russ) Benline of Moundsville; two brothers, Wayne "Jake" (Margaret) Koontz, Larry (Elaine) Koontz all of Moundsville; seven grandchildren, Trisha, Kasey, Josh, Logan, Tori, Neely, Lexi; six great- grandchildren Alissa, Gavin, Kadince, Cole, Riley, Sophie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Sessums officiating.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Cameron.
