John Prascik

PRASCIK, John F. "Cubba," 73, of Benwood, W.Va., died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1939, in Benwood, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Pollock) Prascik.

He was a former employee of Ohio Ferro Alloy in Powhatan, Ohio, Wheeling Wholesale Grocery, and the Wheeling Housing Authority. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Katherine Eubanks; brother, Joseph Prascik; and infant sister, Wilma Prascik.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Brahler) Prascik; two daughters, Cynthia A. Prascik and Christine M. Prascik of Wheeling; one son, J. Michael Prascik of Wheeling; two sisters, Rosemarie (Raleigh) Wilson, and Joann Glinka; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Prascik, Mary K. Schlosser, and Laura Brahler; two brothers-in-law, George Brahler, and Charles (Beverly) Brahler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 2-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, W.Va., where funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
