John Bunfill

BUNFILL, John (Jack) Russell Jr., 86, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the Shadyside Care Center.

Jack was born on October 10, 1925, the son of the late John R. and Pauline Butler Bunfill.

He was a member of the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church of Shadyside and owner of the Bellaire Music Center.

Jack was a Marine veteran of World War II, a Shriner and an Elks member. As a music enthusiast, Jack led the Shriners' marching band and played his tenor sax with friends in a quasi-professional band.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Carroll Bunfill; a son, John (Rusty) Bunfill III; and his sister, Joyce Brown of Columbus.

Surviving are his children, Karen Hughes and Cindy Bunfill of Columbus, Brady of Gonzales, La., and Lois Parker, Misty Kozlowski and Terry Tipton of Shadyside; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, Ohio, on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Randy Weaver officiating. Interment in the Holly Memorial Gardens in Pleasant Grove, Ohio, with full military honors conducted by the Moundsville Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church, 3838 Lincoln Ave., Shadyside, OH 43947; or the Shadyside Fire Department Association, 4210 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH 43947.
