WEIRTON - Mike Rogers fired a 74 Saturday to earn medalist honors and lead Weirton Madonna's 'A' squad to the championship of the West Virginia Catholic Golf Tournament at Williams Country Club.
The event featured a battle between the Blue Dons and Charleston Catholic, who have battled it out at the state's Class A tournament the past few years at Oglebay.
The Irish finished second with 331, followed by Weirton Madonna's 'B' squad with 357, Wheeling Central with 373 and Bishop Donahue with 410.
Nick Mazur added a 78 for the Blue Dons top team, while Thomas Gianni carded a 79 and Alex Colantonio and Matthew Lyons each scored 88.
Freddie Fitzsimmons paced the Maroon Knights with 84, while Steve Gretchin's 83 was tops for the Bishops.
